Michael is Lead Consultant in OALP Consulting. He also heads Olaniwun Ajayi LP’s Port Harcourt Office, the affiliate law firm to OALP Consulting. Michael coordinates both the firm and OALP Consulting Southern and Eastern service delivery. He previously headed the Enterprise and Corporate Governance Practice units of the law firm.
Michael constantly advises local, foreign, and multinational corporations as well as government, governmental agencies, supranational and developmental institutions on complex transactions. Michael has broad based experience in corporate and commercial law, both contentious and non-contentious, having headed the two anchor practice units of Olaniwun Ajayi LP- Dispute Resolution Practice and Enterprise Practice. He possesses an astute commercial and pragmatic understanding of the nuances of commercial transactions and the corporate world, and adopts an analytical, commercial and goal-oriented approach in dealing with complex issues, in a manner that ensures the successful attainment of commercial and corporate objectives.
He previously served as a Special Assistant to the Executive Secretary/CEO of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), where he doubled as the head of the Legal, Regulatory and Compliance Unit. He also served as a member of a Ministerial Committee that reviewed the grant of Pioneer Status incentives.
He holds an LLB degree from the University of Nigeria, and Masters in International Trade and Commercial Law (with Distinction) from Durham University, United Kingdom.
